The post-Barry Robson era begins at Love Street this weekend, as Dundee United take on SPL rivals Saint Mirren in the Scottish Cup.

United`s influential captain joined Celtic on the final day of the January transfer window, in a deal worth around £1.25million.

Manager Craig Levein has already appointed defender Lee Wilkie as the new club captain, but there aren`t many candidates in the squad capable or replacing Robson`s influence further up the pitch.

29-year-old Robson has been involved in almost every goal Dundee United have scored this season, either setting it up with one of his inch perfect crosses or scoring himself with an well taken curling free-kick.

However, the show must go on and youngster Craig Conway isn`t too bad at crossing himself, while the club`s top scorer Noel Hunt doesn`t to pass up many opportunities infront of goal.

Levein will also have to do without cup-tied midfielder Jim O`Brien and the injured Christian Kalvenes, with Danny Grainger expected to take his place in defence.

Saint Mirren have Stephen O’Donnell and Richard Brittain out through injury and new signing Jim Hamilton is cup tied, but midfielder Gary Mason is available again after returning from suspension.
