It was the news that most Dundee United supporters were dreading, but as expected Barry Robson left Tannadice on the final day of the January transfer window.
The 29-year-old midfield maestro has been crucial to Dundee United`s ascent up the SPL league table this season, scoring an impressive 12 goals in 24 games.
His fiery temperament might have earned him some unwanted attention from Scottish referees on occasions, but he was a clear fans favourite and his ability to score free-kicks and create goal scoring opportunities will clearly be missed by United.
Dundee United wont just get a reported £1.25million from the Glasgow giants for Robson, but also get the chance to take Celtic forward Jim O`Brien on loan until the end of the season.
“We wish him all the best,” Levein told the Dundee Courier after Robson`s departure was announced.
“I think, though, that he knew it was nearing the end of the transfer window and if he was ever to play his best football it had to be now.”
“Barry is 29 and you don`t get massive amounts of money for players of that age, but we`ve got what we consider to be a pretty fair deal.”

“His fiery temperament might have earned him some unwanted attention from Scottish referees on occasions, but he was a clear fans favourite and his ability to score free-kicks and create goal scoring opportunities” That to me looks a good player. Time will tell if he can make the step up.
Massive blow for you but at the end of the day you knew it was going to happen and the money will come in handy!
