Former Dundee United forward Robbie Winters has been linked with a move to the English Coca Cola Championship.

Both Winters & Charlie Miller are looking for a move back to the UK after several years playing with Norwegian side Brann Bergen.

Dundee United had been rumored to be considering a move for the 32-year-old, but so have Oldham, Sheffield Wednesday and several other English clubs.

Winters played over 100 appearances for Dundee United, before moving to Aberdeen in 1998 in a deal which saw £700,000 and Billy Dodds move in the opposite direction.

He played 122 league matches for Aberdeen, scoring 41 times – several times against his old club – before a very short stint at Luton, where he played only 1 match before moving to Norway.

The Scottish born player has recently turned down the chance to go on trial at division 1 side Oldham, but is giving consideration to an offer from CocaCola Championship side Sheffield Wednesday to help boost their chances of making the Championship play-offs this season.

Craig Levein has said he is looking for experienced players during the transfer window in January and with Robbie Winters out of contract it might be worth considering a move for the free agent.

However, when Winters last played at Tannadice it was his pace which made him a threat to opposition defences and at 32-years-old would there be any of that pace left in him?
