Young striker Johnny Russell has been ruled out for six weeks after suffering an ankle injury during Dundee United’s first pre-season training session.

The 20-year-old turned his ankle following a seemingly harmless game of head tennis and was taken to hospital as a precaution.

And subsequent tests indicated that he hadn’t sustained any broken bones, but that ankle ligament damage would keep him out of action for around six weeks.

Meanwhile, the Arabs have received confirmation of venues and kick-off times for their two games in Austria next week.

They will face Romanians Unirea Urziceni in Buch near Salzburg (6pm kick-off) on Thursday week before following it with a clash against Poles Arka Gydnia at Hallein on Sunday 18th July (3pm kick-off).
