Dundee United seek revenge against the side which knocked them out of both cup competitions this season when facing Motherwell at Tannadice on Saturday afternoon. Third place is still possible for the hosts, at least statistically, and there won’t be any let up against opponents who now primarily have their attentions fixed on their forthcoming Scottish Cup final date with Celtic later this month.

Vital Quotes:

“They have been doing very well, they are a team of solid professionals with some very talented players,” Dundee United manager Peter Houston told BBC Scotland. “They have beat us a few times this season and we got the better of them at Tannadice the last time. We are still in with a shout of third place if Hearts slip up, so we won’t be taking our foot off the gas.”

“I will rest two or three players. A lot of them have played 45 to 50 games and I think against Rangers last week a lot of them did look leg weary in the second half,” Motherwell chief Stuart McCall confirmed to BBC Scotland. “We’ll look to freshen things up so, when it comes to the final, we’re refreshed, raring to go, with everyone fit and ready to play. My main focus is winning the Scottish Cup final and, between now and then, we’ll be looking to do everything to do that.”

Dundee United Team News:

Experienced defender Darren Dods is definitely still out but otherwise the hosts have a full-strength squad to select from.
