Every football supporter wishes they were multi-millionaires, if only so they could use some of their personal wealth to buy their team some decent players.

Now, Coca cola are giving football fans the opportunity to make money for their own clubs in their new ‘Buy A Player’ promotion.

If you buy promotion bottles or multi-packs, you could win between 50p and £100,000 for your Football League or Scottish Premier League club to use to boost their own transfer budget.

Dundee United chairman Eddie Thompson has been subsidising the club with his own money for the last few seasons, but has still managed to make funds available for Craig Levein to bring in some new players during the January transfer window.

Now, Dundee United supporters have the chance to help out, just by texting the unique code found on bottles or multi-packs to 80094 or enter at www.coca-cola.co.uk/football – the winners of the £100,000 prizes for their clubs will also receive a personal prize of £10,000.

“Buy A Player is our biggest football promotion to date and is set to strengthen our already highly credible association with football,” said Steve Cumming, Coca Cola’s Sponsorship Manager.

“The ‘Win A Player’ promotion was hugely successful but we have tried to make the ‘Buy a Player’ promotion bigger, better & even more exciting for football fans.”

Last year Southampton received £250,000 from the ‘Win A Player’ promotion, with Brighton receiving the same amount in 2005.

Mark Kerr was Dundee United’s representative at the launch of Coke’s new promotion at Hampden earlier in the week.
