Dundee United manager Craig Levein has admitted his delight at the 3-0 victory against Hearts at the weekend, but he was also extremely happy with another clean sheet.
A magnificent free-kick from Craig Conway opened the scoring in the 1st half at Tannadice, followed after the break by a half-volley from Jon Daly and a well placed header by Scott Robertson.
However, it was the manner of the victory that impressed manager Levein, as the 3rd win in-a-row was equalled by a 3rd consecutive clean sheet.
Aberdeen(1-0), Airdrie United(2-0) in the League Cup and Hearts(3-0), finally Dundee United have started to convert the positive performances into valuable SPL points.
‘The clean sheet was really important for us, the most important thing, apart from winning obviously,` admitted Levein to the BBC after the match.
‘We`ve had 2 and we want to get on a roll and try to protect a lead. Gradually confidence grows from that and if we get 1-0 up then we`ve got a chance of winning matches.`
‘People were having a go at us for not starting the season as well as even I would have liked.`
‘We have had a lot of hard games. They are all hard, but you have to earn the right to win matches. We earned the right today and hopefully we can build on it next week.`
‘There`s no doubt that at Tannadice we are a hard team to play against.`
