Dundee United have been given a festive boost, as top striker Jon Daly committed himself to the club for another 3 years.
Following in the footsteps of manager Craig Levein, who agreed a contract extension earlier in the month, Daly also put pen to paper on his own contract extension until 2012.
The 25-year-old Irish striker has struggled with injuries since arriving at the club from Hartlepool in January 2007, but has been included in 12 out of United`s 19 SPL matches this season.
Daly has scored 8 times this campaign, 5 in the league and a hat-trick against Cowdenbeath in the League Cup, and is happy that his future is to remain at Tannadice.
‘I’m delighted to have my immediate future secured and that it is with Dundee United,’ admitted Daly to the official Dundee United website.
‘The manager and coaching staff – and supporters – have been terrific to me, showing both patience and understanding while I recovered from injury.’
‘The manager in particular also kept faith in me and I’m happy to remain with a club that has helped me through a difficult time and a club which, I feel, has an exciting future.’
