Former United defender Scott Paterson has been given the opportunity to be at the Scottish Cup Final. As a Gretna player!

The defender branded ?sick note? by the United fans due to his lack of appearances due to injury in his United career. Paterson was injured early on his first season against Celtic at Celtic Park and spent nearly 18 months on the injury list, until eventually he was released by the Tannadice club.

Paterson is at his 5th club in 2 years as he has constantly battled injury at Dundee United, Peterhead, Partick Thistle and St Johnstone. The latest club given him a chance with his old United team mate Owen Coyle took a chance on the unlucky defender.

The 33 year old Aberdonian defender has been given until the end of the season and joins James Grady, Chris Innes and Alan Main as the ex Arab contingent at Raydale Park gets larger.

We do wish him well and all the ex Arabs to get a Scottish Cup medal.
