Motherwell will be a tough test for Dundee United this weekend, especially after they lost so heavily to Hearts last weekend.
Dundee United haven’t won away from home since August 26th, when they beat Saint Mirren 3-1 at Love Street.
However, that was during the pre-Levein era and things have changed dramatically since then, with 4 wins in-a-row at Tannadice and an impressive 12points out of a possible 18.
“Motherwell will be a tough test for us at Fir Park on Saturday,” said Levein.
“Since losing heavily at home to Hibs not that long ago, they had bounced back really well until Saturday’s defeat at Hearts. That’s a sign of the character they have in their team.”
Dundee United legend Maurice Malpas has done well since Terry Butcher left Fir Park for the sunnier climate of Australia, but Motherwell are also at the wrong end of the SPL table and are desperately searching for points to take them further away from Dunfermline at the bottom.
Levein continued, “I know Maurice Malpas from our days together on Scotland duty, when he was a first-class defender and professional.”
“Being a fellow Fifer, Maurice will naturally be a good guy. He’ll have his team ready, but all my thoughts are with Dundee United and hopefully getting another win under our belts.”
