Dundee United manager Craig Levein has openly admitted he is hunting for another striker to improve his 1st team squad.
However, over the past few months Dundee United have been rejected more times than Davie Dodds on a night out, but Levein hasn`t given up yet.
Last week, Belgian International Cedric Roussel was the latest player to turn down a possible loan move to Tannadice – joining a long list which includes attackers David Weatherston, David Porter, Jason Scotland, Mark De Vries and Blackburn youngster Joe Garner.
Speaking after the 0-0 draw with Hibernian at Tannadice, Levein admitted that a goal scorers could have made all the difference to the final score line.
“We all know the problems we are having infront of goal, infact a clinical finisher on either side would have won the game today,” confessed Levein to the BBC after the match.
“I`m addressing that as quickly as I can, but I don’t want to go mentioning names now.”
“I’ve tried to keep it quiet and I`m glad I have, because I`ve missed out on 5 different targets – who I thought were actually that close to signing that the deals were done.
“It just shows you how difficult it’s been.”
