Craig Levein believes that new signing Jon Daly is the answer to Dundee United’s goal scoring problems.
United have struggled to convert chances all season, but Levein’s side have actually scored an impressive 18 goals in the last 10 SPL matches since the new manager’s arrival.
Top goal scorer with 8 goals is Noel Hunt, but he’s been out for several weeks with an ankle injury and captain Barry Robson, who has scored 7 goals, is about to be suspended from the club’s next 3 league matches.
Daly was confirmed as Levein’s 2nd January signing from Hartlepool yesterday afternoon, but wont join up with the 1st team squad until next week at the earliest.
“I have been monitoring the player for a couple of months, but first saw him around two years ago when he was with Stockport,” Levein told the clubs official website.
“It is no secret that we have been thin on the ground in the striker department and Jon gives us something different to what we already have.”
“Jon has scored nine goals this season already and although he has been signed essentially as a target man, he is certainly capable of adding to this tally.

I hope he does…..score that is. We need another proven goal scorer. Noel Hunt is doing well, but it must be hard being played upfront all on your own.
