Just because the January transfer window has closed, doesn’t mean that Dundee United manager Craig Levein has completely given up his search for new talent until the end of the season.
Italian midfielder Pino Meligeni has been training at Tannadice for the past few days, hoping to make a positive impression on the United manager.
However, after watching Meligeni play as a trialist in a reserve match against Hibernian on Tuesday, Levein has decided not to offer the player a deal.
“He’s not really what we are after, so we’ve decided to let him go,” said Levein.

Levein has admitted we need midfielders for his 4-4-2 formation, shame Meligeni wasnt up to his high standards!
but david mccracken and duff are? how does that work aj?
Ok, ok, so his high standards just apply to players he’s bringing in. He cant just boot out all the players he’s not happy with at the same time – otherwise he would have no players left to play and it would cost the club a fortune in compensation payments
