There were sighs of relief all round Tannadice at the start of the week, after Dundee United captain Barry Robson announced his injury wasn`t as serious as first thought.

Robson limped off in the closing stages of the 1-0 win over Aberdeen, just as youngster David Robertson won all 3 points with a sneaky 90th minute winner.

It looked like calf trouble would force Robson to join the mounting injury list, which already includes goalkeeper Lukasz Zaluska, midfielder Mark Kerr and attacker Jon Daly – who are all out for at least another month.

However, the influential midfielder has admitted that he should take his place in the starting line-up against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park next Monday evening.

“I had a wee bit of a tight calf all week and it cramped up late on,” Robson told the Courier.

“There was no point trying to stay on, but it’s nothing serious.”

“These are a huge three points and thoroughly deserved – I thought the boys were excellent.”

“Down to 10 men we stayed strong and looked organised defensively- and we managed to create a few chances.”

“When you are a man short against a quality side like Aberdeen you think a draw might do.”

“But the longer the game went the more I felt we`d a chance of nicking the win?and in the end we did.”

“The result is down to our fitness, organisation and belief.”
