Dundee United defender Lee Wilkie is a doubt for Thursday evening`s friendly against Barcelona, after limping out of last weeks 3-0 win over Airdrie to be replaced by Garry Kenneth.
The 27-year-old was forced off the field after landing awkwardly around half-an-hour into the friendly against Airdrie at New Broomfield.
The former Dundee defender is now struggling with fluid on the kneecap and only managed a place on the substitutes bench in yesterday`s 2-2 draw with Raith Rovers at Starks Park.
“Lee didn`t train because he`s got a bit of fluid on the knee so we`ll have to wait and see how that is before making a decision on him for the Raith game,” admitted Levein to the Courier on Saturday.
Usually football clubs have an injury crisis towards the end of the season, but Dundee United seem to be doing things the other way round.
Goalkeeper Lukasz Zaluska is out for 6 weeks with a broken bone in his foot, striker Jon Daly out for another few months and attacker Noel Hunt struggling to regain full fitness after a groin strain…and now Lee Wilkie is looking doubtful.
It`s not looking like Dundee United will have the kind of start to the new season that many positive supporters were looking forward to!!!
