Striker David Goodwillie’s move to Blackburn Rovers appears to have hit a problem.

Both clubs yesterday settled on a £2m fee with a further £800,000 due in add-ons together with a separate sell-on clause.

The deal for the 22-year-old Scottish international was then expected to be completed over the weekend but complications have since stalled his proposed move to Ewood Park.

“We have not been given permission by Dundee United to speak to any club yet, so at the moment we are waiting on that permission being given,” the player’s agent Liam O’Donnell told BBC Scotland.

Blackburn had earlier seen a £1.7m offer rebuffed whilst both Rangers and Blackpool have similarly failed with recent bids.
