Former Dundee United striker Paul Sturrock has returned to the club as their chief scout in England.

The 61-year-old who scored 171 goals in more than 550 appearances for United, also includes a previous spell as manager having similarly been in charge of St Johnstone.

He had later managerial roles with Plymouth Argyle (twice), Southampton, Sheffield Wednesday, Swindon Town, Southend United and Yeovil Town.

“I am delighted to be back working for my club,” Sturrock told United’s official website. “I look forward to working hard and using my knowledge of the English game to bring talent to the club.”
