Dundee & Dundee United might be local rivals, but that doesn’t stop them doing each other favours every now and again.
Dundee United were due to play a reserve match against Saint Mirren earlier this week, but it was called off because of a water-logged pitch.
Dundee were planning to play in a closed-door match against Stirling Albion on the same day, but bad weather also lead to that match being cancelled aswell.
So, with both teams at a loose end, a phone call lead to a friendly being quickly arranged between the two sides.
It gave several players from both clubs some further match practice, but the result left much to be desired, with Dundee eventually winning 3-2.
Former Dundee defender Steven Robb played in the United side, getting some further match practice to help his recovery from long-term ankle and groin injuries.
Meanwhile, United midfielder Craig Conway missed training earlier this week with a bug.
Conway played in United’s 3-1 win over Inverness Caley Thistle last weekend and its hopeful he will be fully fit intime for United’s trip to Motherwell on Saturday.
Dundee winning something? Ok, it was only a friendly, dont get too carried away….
