Reserve team boss Tony Docherty will be in charge of Dundee United tonight (Tues, Nov 7) for the Forfarshire Cup match at Brechin, as Craig Levein will be watching Kilmarnock play Motherwell in the CIS Insurance Cup.

However, Levein told the Dundee Evening Telegraph that Noel Hunt and David Goodwillie will not play as they are the only strikers who are certain to be fit for he visit of Kilmarnock on Saturday.

He said: ‘I think you can guess that none of the strikers will be involved. We’ve only got Noel Hunt and David Goodwillie definitely available for the weekend and I just don`t think we can take the risk of using either of them.

‘You will probably see a few of the players who were not involved at the weekend, like (Alan) Archibald and (David) Proctor, in the side and it’ll be a mixture of them and the kids.’

Levein will be hoping to continue his superb start with the Terrors at the weekend after seeing his new side beat Rangers 2-1 on Sunday (Nov 5), lifting the club off the bottom of the SPL and starting to banish the memories of some of the dire performances under ex-boss Craig Brewster.
