Dundee United’s on loan Newcastle United centre-back Curtis Good has been ruled out for anything up to six weeks.

The 20-year-old limped out of his international debut for Australia in their friendly with Ecuador at Millwall’s New Den Stadium last week.

Later scans indicated that he had suffered a hip flexor strain and is therefore almost certain to miss the Scottish Cup semi-final against either Albion Rovers or Rangers. His likely absence would open the door for the likes of Sean Dillon, John Souttar and Calum Butcher.

Good had been an ever-present since joining United on loan at the end of January, at least until their big weekend quarter-final win at Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
