United decide against keeper

Dundee United won’t be taking up their one-year contract option on goalkeeper Eiji Kawashima.

The Japanese international made nineteen appearances after finally joining the Tangerines in early January.

However, the relegated club have now withdrawn their available extension on his contract, according to the Dundee Courier.

United originally agreed to sign the experienced 33-year-old in November – but then had an extended wait for a work permit.
