Craig Levein will use his weekend off to continue his search for new players to bring to Tannadice.

Dundee United have no match this weekend, after being knocked out of the Scottish Cup by Caley Thistle 1-0 in the last round.

The next time United play in a competitive game is against Caley Thistle again next weekend, but this time in the SPL.

Levein was hopeful of adding a few more players to his squad before the January transfer window closed at the end of last month.

However, a last gasp bid by Coventry City deprived Levein on the services of New Zealand International Che Bunce until at least the end of this season.

Caley Thistle defender Darren Dods has signed a pre-contractual agreement that will see him arrive at Tannadice in June, taking his place in the team alongside recent arrivals Morgaro Gomis, Jon Daly & Sean Dillon.

“There are a couple of options open to us and we haven’t quite decided where we`ll be yet, but we’ll certainly be out and about,” admitted Levein.
