In-form Dundee United were travelling to meet third-placed Greenock Morton at Cappielow Park this afternoon.

The Tangerines are currently just a single-point off the leadership of the division and a clear five ahead of their latest opponents.

Defender Paul Dixon is their only absentee with a knee injury but is making decent progress and expected back in action early next month.

“With Tosher [Lewis Toshney] and Murdo [Stewart Murdoch] back I’ve got a dilemma for this week,” manager Ray McKinnon admitted to the Dundee Evening Telegraph. “I also thought Blair Spittal was excellent when he returned to the starting line-up at Dunfermline last Saturday.

“That’s given me something to think about because, apart from Paul Dixon, everyone is back fit,” he continued. “It’s a good headache to have. It means everyone is going to have to fight for their place.”

Jamie McDonagh is suspended for the hosts while Jon Scullion remains doubtful with a foot injury, and on loan Aidan Nesbitt also needs checking due to a similar problem.

Striker Thomas Orr is another sidelined by a medial ligament strain, with Conor Pepper still short of fitness following an extended absence.
