Dundee United manager Craig Levein has admitted sharing a strong bond with the late Chairman Eddie Thompson.
Levein found it difficult to talk about Eddie Thompson`s passing last week, with everyone at Tannadice still devastated by recent events.
“It’s virtually impossible to sum up the emotion felt by everybody at the club since our chairman passed away,” Levein told the Daily Record this week.
“In fact, it’s not ready to be analysed yet with his funeral set to take place tomorrow. It’s going to be a very emotional and desperately sad day.”
“I can tell you some of the players will be carrying his coffin. That was one of the things the chairman had requested before he finally lost his battle with cancer.”
“We’re just in the process of finalising these things for the funeral so everything else will rightly take a back seat until later in the week.”
“The church holds a limited number of people so attendance there is by invitation only. However, I’m sure there will be a large number congregating in the surrounding streets and they will hear the service as it is being broadcast outside.”
