Craig Brewster has admitted he is interested in the vacant manager’s posistion at Tannadice.

The 39-year-old Caley player-boss has had discussions with United chairman Eddie Thompson and will continue negotiations and his decision over the next 24-48 hours.

The veteran forward earned cult status at United when he scored the only goal of the game against Rangers to win the 1994 Scottish Cup final at Hampden Park.

Brewster; a self-confessed Arab has admitted it would be a wrench to leave the Inverness club he has been with for the last year.

Brewster said: ‘To leave here would be very hard as I have a set of players at the club who work their socks off for me. But every decision you make in life is very difficult.

‘If you are successful, then you can let people down and, if you underachieve, then you let people down. But these things happen and you just have to get on and deal with it.’
