Dundee United boss Jackie McNamara concedes to having to make a major decision ahead of tonight’s Tayside derby with St Johnstone at Tannadice.

Teenager Ryan Gauld is back in contention following his recovery from a back problem while on loan Newcastle United defender Curtis Good is already ruled out for around a month.

“Everyone came through the cup game at Inverness OK and young Ryan Gauld trained with us on Monday,” McNamara told the Dundee Courier. “We will see how he reacts before deciding whether to stick him back in but we are just delighted to have the wee man training again.

“Unfortunately, it looks like Curtis will be out for four weeks, which is what we thought, so we will stick to that timescale just now,” he added.
