…after 42% of them correctly predicted Alan Archibald would be the next 1st team player to follow David McCracken out of the door at Tannadice.
However, there was a little bit of cheating going on in the poll which appeared on ArabFC.net this week, with some fans voting after the news of Archibalds departure was announced by the club.
Following David McCracken being told his contract with Dundee United wouldn’t be extended when it expires at the end of this season, ArabFC.net asked supporters to vote on which player would be next.
1st team regulars Derek Stillie, Stuart Duff, Marr Kerr, Garry Kenneth and Alan Archibald were the choices, since manager Craig Levein had hinted that he was very unhappy with the performances of several of those United players.
Although, with Archibald sitting at a mere 8% in the poll, it was announced on Wednesday that he was free to find himself a new club, because he too will not have a new deal offered to him in the summer.
After that news, votes for Alan Archibald jumped in the poll, with United fans not surprisingly claiming they knew he was going – even though it was already headline news – cheeky!!!
Before that, it was Derek Stillie who was favourite for the chop, with Stuart Duff and Mark Kerr close behind – but Archibald was almost bottom of the list, along with youngster Garry Kenneth.
However, United supporters were sure that it would be one of the 5 players who would be leaving next, with just 2% voting ‘None Of The Above’ – so it doesn’t look like Arabs have much confidence in several of the current 1st team squad.
