Dundee United have learned from their comprehensive defeat at Hibernian back in January, promises manager Ray McKinnon.

The visitors were comfortably brushed aside in a 3-0 scoreline at Easter Road on that occasion, and currently find themselves trailing Neil Lennon’s table-topping side by seven points going into this evening’s vital clash.

“I just think we weren’t at our best in January when we lost 3-0 to Hibs,” McKinnon told the Dundee Courier. “We were sloppy and got punished for that.

“Also, the first two goals were avoidable and then we were up against it,” he added. “However, I would say that we have learned from that. We know we need to be sharper. We are just delighted to still be in it and if we get a victory then it’s game on.”
