Goalkeeper Cammy Bell believes coming through a play-off quarter-final is definitely to Dundee United’s advantage going forward.

The 30-year-old lines-up this evening against Falkirk in the semi-final at Tannadice with both clubs still harbouring strong ambitions of top-flight football next season.

The Tangerines already overcame Greenock Morton 5-1 on aggregate in their extra play-off round.

“Having two games under our belt is good,” Bell told BBC Scotland. “A lot of boys hadn’t been in the play-offs before so for them to get a feel for it means we’re well prepared.

“People say finishing second is better but you’ve got to manage the time off then, and we’ve just been playing,” he reasoned. “We know what the play-offs are all about as we’ve already had two games. We’re prepared and there will be no surprises for us.”
