Manager Jackie McNamara believes Dundee United will reach the Scottish Cup final if they can match the work levels of Rangers at the weekend.

The Tangerines are expected to be backed by around 11,000 travelling supporters as their favourites contest a meeting with either Aberdeen or St Johnstone in the final of the competition.

United earlier failed in an attempt to have the venue changed after the Scottish FA stuck with their original choice of Ibrox back in October.

“Rangers have a slight advantage with it being their home stadium but Ibrox is a great place to go and play,” McNamara admitted to BBC Scotland. “You can talk about our pace and movement but we have to match Rangers physically to have the ball. When we get flowing I think we can cause anyone problems.”
