Dundee United striker Danny Cadamarteri is desperately hoping there are no departures from Tannadice with the new league season only just over a week away.

Several of the Tangerines’ squad have been linked with possible moves away over the summer, but to date only on loan Rangers defender Andy Webster has left the club following its memorable Scottish Cup triumph last May.

And with the transfer window closing later this month, Cadamarteri is understandably keen for things to stay just as they are and for the current squad to remain firmly in place.

“To be honest, I am very surprised we have managed to keep the team together so far,” he told The Courier. “After the cup final it was a worry that the team would get broken up because clubs were linked with our guys.

“There has been a lot of interest in our players and it is still a worry because the transfer window is not closed yet,” Cadamarteri continued. “If we can hold on to our top players then there is no reason we can’t keep progressing and achieve more.”
