Dundee United wrap-up their league programme with a visit to champions Celtic on Sunday lunchtime (kick-off 12.15pm).

The Tangerines were hopeful that winger Gary Mackay-Steven can return but teenage centre-back John Souttar remains an illness doubt.

Midfielders Paul Paton and John Rankin might not be risked either ahead of their Scottish Cup final date with St Johnstone.

“We have finished fourth and can’t do any better as far as this season is concerned,” manager Jackie McNamara told BBC Scotland. “We were aiming to finish higher and were never going to give up on second place until it was mathematically impossible.

“That’s gone now, but we’ve still had a fairly good season,” he added. “In football, you always strive to improve, which is what we will be trying to do next season for sure.”

Celtic may recall striker Georgios Samaras from a virus but Adam Matthews has a hamstring injury and both James Forrest and Nir Biton are ruled out with groin trouble.
