Dundee United manager Jackie McNamara was hoping for a decent display in their third friendly of the summer against Spanish side San Roque this evening.

The Tangerines have already lost out to both 1FC Union and Energie Cottbus during the German leg of their tour.

New skipper Sean Dillon should return following ankle surgery while forward Michael Gardyne may also be in contention after a groin injury. Trialists Graham Carey, Nadir Ciftci and Jean-Yves Koue Niate will again be hoping to impress.

“In the first few games, the results aren’t really important and it’s about getting as many players as possible involved and making sure they get the legs working,” McNamara told the Dundee Courier. “The last thing you want in these games is to be against weak opposition who you are battering, then the pace of the game isn’t good and the players don’t get any real benefit from it.”
