Dundee United manager Jackie McNamara revealed progress is being made in their search for a new defender.

The Tangerines are currently seeking a replacement for Gavin Gunning following his departure to Birmingham City earlier this week.

McNamara has already been linked with both Hearts skipper Danny Wilson and former Newcastle United loanee Curtis Good.

“Nothing is certain yet but it looks like we could have the player we want by this time next week,” McNamara told the Dundee Courier. “Time will tell but I am hopeful and we have been making progress.”
