Dundee United are currently looking for Spanish opponents on their summer pre-season tour.

The Tangerines are due to face Union Berlin on Sunday 7th July and Energie Cottbus the following Friday as part of the German leg of their trip.

Jackie McNamara’s squad then move across to Spain to be based at the San Roque complex north of Gibraltar for a week – where initially they planned to solely work on the training ground but are now increasingly confident that a third game will be arranged.

Meanwhile, McNamara was remaining optimistic over the recoveries of his sidelined quartet of Sean Dillon, Gavin Gunning, Keith Watson and John Rankin.

“Keith seems OK. He didn`t need an operation but had to rest his knee because of past problems and it looks to have worked,” he told the Dundee Courier. “When they went for their ops, we expected Sean and John to be ready about the time we were coming back to work and that hasn’t changed.

“I am also hoping Gavin will be fine too,” McNamara added. “It was his knee that ended his season early but he also had a shoulder problem
so we took the chance to get that sorted as well.”
