Dundee United winger Craig Conway is claiming his side’s second goal in their weekend 3-1 victory against Aberdeen at Tannadice.

That was after his sixth-minute corner was helped into his own net by Dons keeper Mark Howard.

“I’m claiming it! OK, it did take a touch off the keeper and from where I was standing it looked like he almost punched the ball into the net,” he told the Daily Record. “I feel a bit for him. I’d hate to be a keeper and have big 6ft 5in guys charging at me at every set-piece but I didn’t expect to score from the corner.

“I didn’t expect us to be three goals up so quickly either. You have no concept of time when you’re playing but we knew it was early to have three goals and I’m just glad we saw the game out to win.”
