Dundee United manager Csaba Laszlo aims to bring more experience into his squad when the transfer window reopens next week.

The Tangerines introduced three young substitutes from the bench in Matty Smith, Scott Allardice and Logan Chalmers during their latest 3-0 victory against Livingston at Tannadice.

However, their recently-appointed leader wants to increase his replacement options with a little more maturity ahead of the vital run-in.

“I am happy with the young boys but we can’t expect them always to go on and change the dynamic of the game,” Laszlo admitted to the Dundee Courier. “You probably need more experienced players to come on and do that.

“To be honest with you, we are looking for some new players, hopefully with quality,” he added. “This is important because you do get injuries, as we have seen at the moment. We have to protect our young players while also delivering results on the pitch.”
