Dundee United boss Peter Houston was left to contemplate the absence of a couple of his leading forwards following the shut-out with Ross County on Friday evening.

Skipper Jon Daly was forced to miss out with a knee injury while Gary Mackay-Steven is still unavailable following recent surgery.

That allowed their Dingwall visitors to maintain a fifth clean sheet of the season and extend their overall unbeaten sequence to 40 games.

“Up until the final third we were excellent,” Houston told stv.tv. “What we need to work on now is where we’re going to get our goals from.

“We missed the presence of Daly and Gary Mackay-Steven,” he added. “Jon has had dodgy knees over the last number of years. It could be a couple of weeks.”
