Dundee United hope to maintain manager Jackie McNamara’s impressive start when hosting Hibernian at Tannadice on Sunday afternoon (kick-off 4.30pm).

The Tangerines have won three out of four games under the former Partick Thistle boss and are set to go with an unchanged squad from that which earned a midweek 1-0 victory at Motherwell.

Defender Gavin Gunning is their only absentee as he undergoes knee surgery but Barry Douglas could return at the back and allow skipper Jon Daly to move forward.

“We have created a lot of chances in every game since I have been here,” McNamara told BBC Scotland. “We just have to defend well as a team. ‘If we defend well in any game, we can score goals and hurt any teams in this league.

“There is a lot of ability here and it’s just getting them to believe how good they are,” he added. “I think some of the younger ones don’t realise how good they are. There are some fantastic talents.”

Hibs have midfielder Gary Deegan returning from suspension while Tim Clancy again misses out with a hamstring injury.
