Craig Levein has made no secret of the fact he is on the look out for at least one more attacking player, so there is bound to be a lot of speculation about possible signing targets now that the January transfer window is open.
Hartlepool United striker Jon Daly is the next player to be linked with a move to Tannadice, with talk that Levein is set to sign the 23-year old over the next few days
The Irish born forward, who has played for Stockport, Bury, Grimsby and Hartlepool appears to have a slight discipline problem, with 6 yellow cards and 1 red card in his last 16 matches for Hartlepool.
Although, he is currently the Victoria Park sides top scorer, with 9 goals this season, including a 52nd minute strike against Grimsby at the end of last month, which helped to give the English 2nd division side all 3 points in a 2-0 win.
There are also more rumours about Inverness Caley Thistle defender Darren Dods, who former manager Craig Brewster attempted to sign without success during the summer.
Shelbourne announced yesterday that Dundee United had already signed defender Sean Dillon, but Levein dismissed their claims, since he hasn`t even had a chance to speak to the player – let alone sign him.
However, some sources are claiming Craig Levein will complete his triple transfer swoop by the end of this week, securing the services of Sean Dillon, Jon Daly and Darren Dodds.

Darren Dods is the only one of those 3 players I’d like to see at Dundee United, but he is probably the only one who wont sign for us
