Championship leaders Dundee United make the visit to St Mirren, currently in fourth place, this weekend.

Dutch midfielder Jordie Briels is set to return to action after recovering from the groin injury picked up in the recent Irn-Bru Cup triumph against Cowdenbeath

Fellow schemer Willo Flood could also make a first start of the campaign having performed well from the bench for the latest victory over Brechin City.

Otherwise, Paul McMullan is back from suspension and Scott Fraser should also continue despite a recent foot injury; although fellow forward James Keatings was expected to miss out due to a swollen ankle.

“I think it would be a statement if we could win this game,” manager Ray McKinnon told the Dundee Evening Telegraph. “It would be good to keep our run going and get to the international break with maximum points from the first four games.

“There will still be a long way to go after that but it would keep the momentum building,” he added. “It won’t be easy because St Mirren are a good team.”
