Dundee United really need to get their faltering promotion bid back on track while visiting Raith Rovers on Saturday.

The Tangerines are without midfielder Scott Fraser after suffering a broken foot during the costly 3-2 defeat to St Mirren. He’s now expected to miss the rest of the season.

“I am disappointed,” manager Ray McKinnon told the Dundee Courier. “We spoke about starting the game properly but we lost a goal in the second minute. It was really frustrating.

“We were on top for long periods in the second half but we killed ourselves in the first half,” he added. “We are certainly not meeting the standards that are expected right now.”

Defender Sean Dillon is similarly unavailable for the visitors following ankle ligament damage in midweek, with long-term casualty Blair Spittal another currently sidelined.
