“It was incredible, it was brilliant, absolutely brilliant…..”
Those are the words of Eamonn Bannon, emblazoned across the front of the ‘Flair Play’ DVD released by Dundee United at the start of the season.
The DVD charts Dundee United’s amazing progress to the UEFA Cup final during the 1986/87 season, as described by former players and supporters.
It’s now on sale at the bargain price of just £12.99 and supporters can even buy it online through the official club shop.
But….. be warned….. if you ever want to watch this DVD, you’d be better buying it yourself from the Dundee United shop, because otherwise it could be £12.99 wasted.
It must be a DVD that`s in demand, because either the Royal Mail postmen are pocketing them or the Dundee United club shop can’t bear to part with them.
I’ve now order TWO copies of this illusive DVD and neither of them has ever arrived.
The first copy was ordered the same week Dundee United hosted Barcelona in the glamour friendly at Tannadice in July, but 3 weeks and 3 phone calls later…. still no sign!
A 2nd copy was sent in the middle of August, but a further 2 months have now gone and still no DVD.
Even taking the recent Royal Mail strikes into consideration, it shouldn`t take 3months to arrive, should it?
How have Dundee United dealt with this situation?
How satisfactorily have they responded to all the phone calls, letters and emailed enquires?
Well, I’ll give you a clue….. this will be the LAST time I ever buy anything from the Dundee United club shop!!!
I still have not received confirmation that either of the DVDs were sent to the correct address, but unsurprisingly I have received confirmation from my bank about the funds being taken out.
According to Royal Mail, it is the sender’s responsibility to claim for any items of mail lost in the post, so at least Dundee United wont be out of pocket!!
I’m sure it’s a great DVD, well worth waiting for….. but that’s 3months gone now and I`m still waiting!!!
It’s gotta be said, that sucks!
