Dundee United are not expecting an immediate resolution to midfielder Rudi Skacel’s future at Tannadice.

Manager Peter Houston confirmed he has already opened talks with the Czech Republic international over extending his stay but doesn’t expect any decision until towards the end of the month. The 33-year-old only signed a short-term deal with the Tangerines back in October.

“I’ve spoken to Rudi and I’ve asked him the questions,” Houston explained to stv.tv. “He’s in a situation where he’s 33-years-old and he’ll be looking to get the best deal.

“So no doubt he’s got his people out there looking for more money because he came here on nowhere near the salary he was on at Hearts,” he added. “I think it will be the nearer the end of the month before we know what’s happening.”
