Dundee United have opened contract talks with midfielder Scott Fraser.

The 22-year-old is out of contract at Tannadice in the summer and would therefore be free to enter into discussions with other clubs next month, although he admits to being perfectly happy where he is at the moment.

“I’m enjoying myself. I’m in no rush to leave,” Fraser told the Dundee Courier. “I’d love to get this club promoted. Being a local boy who has come through the academy and being part of the squad that got relegated, it would be great to help them back up.

“You do feel a bit of responsibility. It’s hard when you’re from the area and you’re seeing fans in the town. There is more pressure on local boys,” he insisted. “If I can be here at the end of the season and get the club promoted I’ll be happy with that.”

Fraser was this week presented with the Ladbrokes Championship player of the month award for November.
