Midfielder Fraser Fyvie is intent on reclaiming his starting place at Dundee United.

The former Hibernian playmaker has recently missed out after suffering injury in the defeat to Inverness Caledonian Thistle last month – which also turned out to be former boss Ray McKinnon’s final game in charge.

He was therefore sidelined for the subsequent victory at Dumbarton before then only being a late substitute in the home success against St Mirren.

“What’s happened is just part and parcel of the game ? you get injured, the team does well and you just have to do what you can to get back in the side,” Fyvie reasoned to the Dundee Evening Telegraph. “The team’s been good the past couple of league games, so you don’t expect too many changes.

“Obviously, on Saturday past [the Irn-Bru Cup loss to Crusaders] it was not great but you do what you can, put yourself in contention, it’s all you can do.”
