Former St Johnstone manager Derek McInnes has confirmed his interest in taking over at Dundee United in the summer.

McInnes lost his position at Championship strugglers Bristol City last week and could be an option to replace United’s departing manager Peter Houston at the end of the season.

However, McInnes, 41, must first finalise the conditions of his exit from Ashton Gate before accepting any new role.

Falkirk manager Steven Pressley, Partick Thistle’s Jackie McNamara, Alloa boss Paul Hartley and former Livingston manager Gary Bollan are also possible candidates for Tannadice.
