St Mirren boss Danny Lennon is happy enough to be kicking-off the new season against Dundee United.

But the Buddies leader is still expecting a tough battle against the Scottish Cup holders when the new campaign gets underway on 14th August.

“I`m happy we`ve got a home fixture,” Lennon told the Paisley Daily Express. “Dundee United, as we know, will be very difficult and they will still be riding high after their Scottish Cup win.

“It`s a new start for everyone but what we`ll be emphasising to the players is that they have to believe in themselves, believe in their ability and go out and try to pick up as many points as possible,” he added.

“Hopefully we can do that against a very good Dundee United side.”
