Peter Houston has warned his Dundee United side against taking weekend opponents Aberdeen too lightly.

The Dons have a forthcoming Scottish Cup semi-final against Hibernian on their immediate horizon and Houston believes this will probably work very much in their advantage for the game at Pittodrie.

“Craig Brown will be using the incentive of semi-final places to get his players fired up,” he told the Dundee Courier. “They won’t be happy after losing to Hearts last weekend so he will be telling them they’re fighting for a jersey at Hampden.

“We have not had a result against Aberdeen yet this season,” he added. “But we will be going there looking to get a positive result.”
