Dundee United manager Peter Houston is more than happy to remain at Tannadice subject to the right deal being offered.

Houston’s current arrangement expires next May and he has already expressed concerns over the lack of a new offer from the club, although he fully appreciates their present financial difficulties.

However, three top four finishes and a Scottish Cup triumph while in charge certainly shows his own standing within the game.

“I’m happy at Dundee Utd, but you have to make sure you’ve the proper contract, if it’s a similar contract then I’d be happy to stay,” he told BBC Scotland. “Hopefully we can come to some agreement, because I’ve never stated that I want to go.

“I’m in my last year, I’ve got six months to go yet, but it’s something I’d like to get settled and put to bed,” Houston added. “The sooner it happens – or doesn’t happen – the better, so we all know what’s happening.”
